Wild Flower Wedding at Kew Gardens
When our fashion conscious client approached us to asked us to create wedding flower designs using a multitude of bright, colourful tones to realise a luxurious countryside look, you can imagine that we were thrilled. Transforming the Nash Conservatory at the Royal Botanical Kew Gardens, we adorned this immaculate glass house with an everlasting meadow of wild summer flowers on either side of the aisle.
The striking arch design placed at the end of the aisle, a piece which we at Larry Walshe have become renowned for creating, was created in a pitch style to reference the architecture of the impressive Nash Conservatory roof; it was then filled with thousands of fresh flower stems including roses, spray roses, clematis, nigella and delicate strands of jasmine, our clients favourite scent. Packed with detail and fragrant herbs, the whole scheme smelt as good as it looked!
Our signature golden lanterns were also filled with jasmine scented candles to ensure the guests were able to immerse themselves in such a special celebration.
To decorate The Orangery at Royal Botanical Kew Gardens, we created two beautifully low and equally luxurious schemes. Our clients were clear that they wanted low table designs in order to ensure all of the wedding guests would be able to interact with one another. To add visual interest, we felt two different schemes would provide variety in such grand surroundings.
Venetian ribbed glass storm shades were nestled at the base with a wild selection of vibrant and colourful flowers including a whole host of fragrant stems such as freesia, sage, rosemary & mint to result in a wedding scheme which cast a soft, gentle scent throughout the whole day.
The top table was draped with a wild and luxuriously rustic garland made from mixed textural foliages, herbs and the brides favourite flowers. It was then framed with a picture perfect arch at the rear of The Orangery; packed full of thousands of wild meadow-like flowers and hundreds of fragrant herbs.
The addition of scent in all aspects of the wedding was incredibly important to our client and it truly does add a further dimension to the celebrations. From the bridal bouquet to the table designs, each piece we created for this wedding at Kew Gardens was packed with fragrant stems to create a memory which when remembered in years to come, will conjure images of such a special and beautiful day.
