RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2015
We were thrilled to be commissioned by M&G Investments to create a bespoke dress made of over 1,200 flowers, to celebrate their sixth consecutive year as title sponsor of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2015.
Our initial inspiration came from the renderings created by multi-award winning garden designer Jo Thompson; through research we refined a concept which thoughtfully and sensitively incorporated the initial brief alongside tones that would feature in Jo’s garden. This in turn, produced a seamless marketing campaign that received incredible press engagement.
The dress itself is crafted from very fine, soft grey voile and silk by skilled artisans and assumes an organic silhouette that motions the fluidity and echoes the calmness of water. Fabric is gathered at a 1930’s drop waist to create a seductive and romantic form, which draws further inspiration from the translucency of water. Timeless in its simplicity, the intricate floral embroidery detailing features delphiniums, spray roses, brunia, hyacinths and limonium.
On opening day we also created a series of fabulous swimming caps which were unveiled to the worlds press and worn by sychronised swimmers as they basked in the tranquil waters of the Jo Thompson swimming retreat.
Both designs received incredible press coverage and in total, gained 395 stories, ranging from the front cover of The Times through to Vogue Magazine which provided a combined potential reach of more than 2.23bn.
