Chelsea in Bloom 2016: Winning Gold
Inspired by the Rio Carnival and all that Brazil offers, we were thrilled to have been commissioned once again by 11 Cadogan Gardens to represent them in the 2016 Chelsea in Bloom competition.
Working with the concept of Rio, we created a large and theatrical tropical cascade featuring a range of textural and exotic flowers and foliages that tumble over 6m to the ground below. From here, a vibrant and impressive carnival parrot measuring over 3m wide veritably bursts from the building brandishing a golden Olympic medal.
From our initial designs, we worked collaboratively with 11 Cadogan Gardens to refine a concept through watercolours and create a piece which would capture attention and fully represent their brand.
Crafted on the façade of the hotel using only temporary fixings, this striking piece was packed full of detail and texture that has become synonymous with the Larry Walshe brand and encouraged engagement from guests as the public.
The installation was awarded a gold medal by the Chelsea in Bloom judges and gained excellent coverage in national press & online publications. The installation was also featured on ABC News America & London Live.
