When it opened its doors in 1865, The Langham, London was Europe’s first grand hotel. A century and a half on, the epithet remains apt and, within its stately Victorian walls, there are some striking event spaces. The Grand Ballroom (as spectacular as when it opened as the hotel’s dining room) opens onto a terrace overlooking The Courtyard Garden – a great spot for a summery cocktail reception. Postillion’s high ceilings and large windows provide fine views of All Souls Church.

The jewel in The Langham’s crown, this remarkable room retains the majestic renaissance pillars and shimmering chandeliers that so delighted the 19th century elite of Europe. The perfect wedding venue, this historic ballroom is marked by an extraordinary elegance and an incomparable charm, making every celebration here a truly enchanting and a most memorable encounter. The Grand Ballroom’s elaborately draped windows, now open on to a terrace overlooking a tranquil courtyard, known as The Middleton Rose Garden, one of the oldest private gardens in London dating back to the mid-eighteenth century, an ideal summer outdoor venue.
