At A Tuscan Welcome Dinner at Fontana Le Ciotole in Piazza Roma, Argegno, Larry Walshe created a vibrant alfresco celebration that captured the relaxed spirit of an Italian summer evening on Lake Como. Drawing inspiration from the warm tones of the surrounding architecture and the charm of a traditional Italian piazza, the design embraced an abundant palette of sun-drenched oranges, citrus yellows, and lush Mediterranean greens.
Long tables were dressed in soft toile linens and arranged beneath the striped awnings of La Piazzetta, allowing guests to dine surrounded by the character and colour of the lakeside village.
The floral design reflected Larry’s signature approach to creating immersive environments, with generous arrangements of dahlias, marigold-toned blooms, and textural foliage spilling from hand-painted ceramic vessels. These florals were complemented by playful touches of seasonal produce—lemons, kumquats, grapefruits, and vibrant red and green chillies—woven throughout the tablescape to evoke the richness of Tuscan markets. The citrus accents echoed the golden hues of the flowers while adding a fresh, informal charm that perfectly suited the welcoming atmosphere of the evening.
