Villa Pizzo, Lake Como

Set against the dramatic backdrop of Lake Como and the lush green mountains beyond, Larry Walshe conceived a wedding floral design at Villa Pizzo that celebrated purity, texture and architectural elegance. Drawing inspiration from the symmetry of the terrace and the striking perspective of the mirrored aisle extending towards the water, the floral concept focused entirely on layered white blooms and sculptural foliage.

The design framed the ceremony space with abundant arrangements that softened the classical stone balustrades while echoing the natural light and reflections of the lake, creating a serene and luminous atmosphere.

Walshe’s approach centred on building depth through texture rather than colour. Clouds of white roses, hydrangeas, ranunculus and seasonal garden blooms were interwoven with delicate spires and trailing elements to produce an organic yet refined composition. These florals cascaded along the edges of the reflective aisle and gathered into sculptural clusters at key focal points, guiding the eye toward the ceremony altar where taller arrangements rose like natural sculptures. The interplay between the structured terrace, the mirrored walkway and the soft abundance of florals created a harmonious dialogue between architecture and nature.
