THE
BRIEF

Our bride and groom wanted to celebrate their rehearsal dinner at the iconic Villa Pliniana on Lake Como, Italy.  Their wedding was due to be hosted at Villa Balbiano and they wanted to create a setting which was relaxed, al fresco and full of lemons to welcome all their American guests to the fabulous and dreamy Lake Como.

We took inspiration from the spirit of the Mediterranean and paired fresh zesty Sicilian  lemons against olive foliage and yellow flowers to ensure an outdoor rehearsal dinner in Lake Como with all the spirit of Italy.

The Final Creation

As guests arrived to Villa Pliniana by boat, they were greeted by a giant lemon tree, built by our expert London florists.  This large statement floral installation set the tone for what lies beyond.

The gates of Villa Pliniana were decorated with a large and lavish flower arrangement featuring thousands of zesty yellow lemons in rustic baskets alongside bountiful supplies of olive foliage and miniature chamomile flowers.  The gates themselves were overgrown with ivy and when they opened, they revealed the al fresco dining area which laid beyond.

In the garden at Villa Pliniana, a decadent al fresco dining scheme, perfect for a luxury rehearsal dinner in Lake Como.  Long dining tables adorned with zesty yellow and green flowers ran along the table alongside hundreds upon hundreds of rustic candles.  Overhead a floral canopy of Mediterranean greens created a truly intimate floral installation with suspended candles throughout.

We love to create a floral ceiling as it really offers a dramatic event design and which creates memories that last a lifetime.  Crates of lemons with lasercut lemon leaf escort cards finished the look and gave guests an interactive opportunity before taking their seat for dinner.
