THE
BRIEF

Our bride and groom had originally planned a large and lavish wedding celebration only to find that like many others, their plans were popped on hold during the COVID-19 global pandemic.  When weddings of 30 were permitted to take place in the UK, our clients decided that instead of waiting to celebrate with a larger group of family and friends, they would rather host an intimate wedding at the exclusive Monkey Island Estate near Bray.

Lavish and romantic was our brief and in order to achieve this, we proposed creating a wedding design with only one colour and only one flower variety.  This offered a contemporary interpretation on the brief whilst at the same time, resulted in a look which was timeless and oh, so chic.

The Final Creation

The wedding ceremony took place in the garden, overlooking the River Thames.  Using a pergola, thousands upon thousands of red roses were draped lovingly atop in a motion that resembled the fluidity of water and ribbons.  Weaving throughout the structure, a wonderful sense of rhythm was realised to result in a striking and dramatic wedding ceremony that had never been seen before.

Running down the aisle on either side, hundreds of romantic red roses combined to create floral meadows.  These guided our bride along the most memorable walk of her life before standing beneath our spectacular ceremony design.

As guests motioned across the lawn to enjoy the cocktail reception, they were greeted by a large and contemporary floral installation.  Crafted using silver mirror and thousands of red roses, this modern flower design offered guests the perfect photographic opportunity.

The wedding reception was hosted in the ballroom.  A single, long table adorned with a sea of red roses created the perfect setting.  A runner of red roses along the centre of the table, cascaded off the edges and fell to the floor with a wonderful flourish.  Our London florists created a modern arrangement by using only one flower variety, ensuring its opulence by the sheer number of roses used.

Exquisite Italian crystal candelabra added a touch of height to the scheme whilst crystal charger plates and gold cutlery created a decadent tablescape that was every bit as timeless as the floral design.

This was one of the most enjoyable and special intimate weddings that we have had the pleasure to design and we were so grateful to our clients for entrusting us to be creative, be bold and produce a wedding that has never been seen before.
