Best of British: Autumn Dahlias
Commissioned by our client to create beautifully abundant autumn inspired designs to dress their restaurant based in Greenwich, London we could think of nothing better than an abundance of British dahlia sourced from Withypitts Dahlias in West Sussex. With an array of mixed vibrant colours they are, in our opinion, the perfect expression of the autumn season.
Combined with hundreds of British autumnal hydrangea and a whole host of responsibly foraged British foliages, we created a romantic scheme that enhanced the traditional coach house property and resulted in an effortlessly beautiful setting for our clients’ private party.
An archway of mixed British foliage welcomed guests as they arrived; with added eucalyptus and autumnal rosehips, this piece captured the spirit of autumn and led guests inside the coach house to begin the celebrations.
Inside, we accessorised our designs with copper to work alongside the existing architecture and interior decoration. The warm metallic tone was offset perfectly with the use of dark wood, iron and stone. Throughout we placed urns packed with texture and colour and low occasional designs brimming with vibrant colours.
Within the restaurant itself, we created the most striking nod to autumn; an autumnal meadow installation.
Using thousands of fresh flower stems featuring amaranthus, rosehips, British hydrangea & British dahlia, this textural design also used a combination of mixed British foliage and crystal accessories to result in a commanding piece which was the centre of conversation throughout the party!
We at Larry Walshe absolutely adore using British flowers and in particular, British dahlias; not only because it is environmentally responsible to do so but because they are incredibly beautiful! Packed with character and charm, they create a rainbow of colours when mixed together that can’t help but inspire a smile.
