Larry Walshe transformed City Winery in New York into a striking, immersive setting for an unforgettable birthday celebration, drawing inspiration from the rich, atmospheric tones seen throughout the space. Layers of deep sapphire and midnight blue drapery cascaded dramatically from the ceiling, softening the venue’s architectural structure while creating a sense of movement and intimacy.
Suspended mirror balls and slender vertical light tubes punctuated the fabric installation, casting delicate reflections and luminous accents across the room. The result was a moody yet glamorous environment that balanced the energy of a live music venue with the elegance of a private celebration.
At the heart of the design was the stage, framed by glowing steps and bathed in a wash of indigo and violet light, setting the tone for an evening of performance and celebration. Around the dance floor, tables were arranged cabaret-style to encourage both conversation and clear sightlines to the stage.
Blue linens echoed the overall palette while warm candlelight and sculptural tabletop lamps added pockets of golden glow, creating contrast against the cool lighting design. Contemporary floral arrangements of orchids, foliage and soft white blooms were styled in minimalist vessels, offering refined texture without distracting from the theatrical ambiance.
