Halls des Luminares

Larry Walshe conceived an immersive corporate celebration for Valrhona at the historic Halls des Luminares in New York, transforming the grand Beaux-Arts architecture into a theatrical canvas of light, colour, and movement. Drawing inspiration from the building’s soaring columns, ornate ceilings, and dramatic scale, the design centred around projection-mapped visuals that wrapped every surface of the hall.

The effect was a dynamic interplay between heritage architecture and contemporary digital artistry, allowing the space to shift seamlessly from a vibrant cocktail reception to an electrifying evening performance environment.

The visual narrative of the event was inspired by the rich sensory world of chocolate itself—deep cocoa tones, molten golds, and bursts of jewel-like colour reflecting the complexity and creativity of Valrhona’s craft. Throughout the evening, projections cascaded across the marble columns and vaulted ceilings in painterly textures reminiscent of cacao blossoms, swirling cocoa, and abstract confectionery palettes. These immersive visuals transformed the hall into a living artwork, enveloping guests in a sensory experience that mirrored the brand’s passion for flavour, artistry, and innovation.
