Park Hyatt, New York

Larry Walshe transformed the Park Hyatt New York into a sophisticated setting for a corporate celebration, drawing inspiration from a warm, golden palette and sculptural floral installations. The design centered on abundant arrangements of golden cymbidium orchids, layered with deep burgundy foliage to create richness and contrast.

These florals cascaded dramatically across mirrored display structures and elegant white vessels, creating a sense of movement and luxury while reflecting the soft glow of candlelight. The reflective gold surfaces and mirrored elements amplified the floral abundance, giving the entrance and reception areas a luminous, immersive quality.

Throughout the space, the design balanced opulence with contemporary restraint. A striking seating chart installation featured mirrored gold plinths overflowing with orchids, transforming a practical element into a statement piece that welcomed guests with visual drama. The tablescapes echoed this aesthetic with low, abundant orchid centerpieces arranged in warm-toned vessels, surrounded by softly glowing votive candles and delicate glassware. The overall effect was intimate yet refined, with the golden tones complementing the Park Hyatt’s sleek architectural finishes and marble surfaces.
